Hawaii: Part One

My mother and I were in Hawaii from September 8 - 14th. It was her first time and my second time. I just love that place - the island life and the people.

Sept 8th: Our travel day.  We had a quick layover in LA. Thank goodness for no delays. We arrived in Honolulu at 9:30 pm. Once we were settled in the hotel, we had a quick dinner and then went to bed. (click photos to enlarge)

Sept 9th: Our first official day. We had breakfast at Duke's Waikiki. Then we went for a quick stroll on the beach. My mother wanted to go shopping so we checked out Macy's and the new International Marketplace. We also booked our Circle Island Tour for the next day.  Afterwards, we took our hotel's shuttle to Ala Moana Mall where we had lunch at Jollibee. I ended the day by watching the sunset on Waikiki beach.

Sept 10th: We woke up early for our Circle Island Tour. It was an all day tour (7-3:30pm). We visited Kuilei Cliffs Beach Park, Hanauma Bay,  Halona Blowhole,  Sandy Beach, Waimanalo Beach, Macadamia Nut Farm in Kaneohe,  Fumi's Shrimp in Kahuku for lunch,  Pua'ena Point in Haleiwa for snorkelling and we ended the tour at the Dole Plantation for some dole whip. We didn't rent a car so doing the tour was a great way for us to see the island. For dinner, we tried out Marukame Udon, it was pretty good. Now I understand why they always have a line-up.
